October Goals

We may be 10 days into October, but it’s never too late to set some monthly goals right? About a week ago, I posted a YouTube video sharing how I made my monthly goal dashboard page for my planner. And since then, I’ve had a few requests about how I use my goal dashboard and what types of things I write down for each month.

Back in July, I made my first monthly goal dashboard. I wanted to try writing down small things I’d like to do for the month and I ended up loving it! I did not make one for September and really found myself missing this page of fun little reminders.

The goals I set monthly are small and may not seem like much, but they are little things I’d like to try and integrate into my day. And, let’s be real, it’s an excuse to play with stickers and decorate!

My October goals include:

Listen to a Podcast. Like many people, I commute to work on the highway. I also don’t even want to know how much time I spend a week sitting in traffic. I often will listen to music and occasionally an audiobook. But that’s at least an hour of my day that I have the opportunity to learn something. I’ve heard good things about podcasts, but have never really given them a listen. For October, I’m going to be listening to Podcast Productivity Paradox by the creator of the Inkwell Press Planners. I’m excited to listen to something new and maybe even learn a few things too! It may almost make sitting in traffic worth it… Maybe.

Simplify Skincare Routine. I love skincare products and I really want to pair my routine down to a few solid gems of products. I’m going to spend this month cleaning out my skincare products and really just keep the ones I use and love. There’s no sense in keeping products that I don’t like or don’t use sitting around.

Drink More Water. I am horrible at drinking water. I am more likely to grab a coffee or a pop. To start, I’m going to practice the art of bribery and for every glass of water I drink I can have an alternative drink like coffee or pop. Yeah, that ought to work, right? We shall see!

15 Minute Clean. I envy those people that set a 15 minute timer on their phone and pick up stray items or clean something. I want to be one of those people. I’m going to try and start practicing a 15 minutes clean every day or every other day to start until it is a part of what I’d like to be my evening routine.

Watch Less TV. I don’t even want to know how much I could get done if I wouldn’t plop down in front of the TV by 8 or 9 o’clock at night and watch a solid four hours of Netflix. It’s hard. I like my TV shows. But I want to see how picking out a few evenings a week to spend some quiet time getting things done just how productive I can be. Fingers crossed. After all, Fall TV shows have started.

Read 1 Career Book and 1 Halloween Book. I’ve fallen off the reading bandwagon the last few months. It’s bad. I need to start reading again, so I’m setting myself a goal to read one career type book and one spooky Halloween book because it’s October after all!

So there you have it! Those are my small goals for October. What is something you’d like to accomplish this month? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time!

  1. Let’s try this again… (stupid fingers! LOL) Pop is how I get my caffeine and so I drink too much of it. My goal this month is limiting myself to one pop a day. I’ve been successful so far except for one day (whoops!).

    1. Hi Karen! Thank you! I use my habit tracker for things like making my bed, doing my complete skincare routine, days I read, taking vitamins, drink water. Mainly things I should be doing everyday. For some reason, checking off a box keeps me motivated to do everything! 🙂
