There’s something so exciting about decorating for the Christmas holiday. But you know that area above your bed? I’ve always wanted to do something festive for the Holiday Season, but until this year, everything I tried fell short of what I was picturing in my head.
But I came across this beautiful Merry Christmas ornament wall art that I just had to have the moment I saw it. No questions asked. I’ve had an unused package of curtain string lights for months, add in the fact that my mom had bought one too many strands of garland (Thanks, Mom!), and a snowy, Saturday afternoon and you get the ingredients for one of my favorite Christmas DIY decor pieces I’ve ever whipped up!
What I used:
- 1 – Curtain LED String Lights (Ashland Brand from Michaels)
- 1 – Angel Pine & Spruce Garland, 6 ft long (Ashland Brand from Michaels)
- 1 – Green Floral Wire with Cutter (Ashland Brand from Michaels)
- 3 – 3M Command Wall Wire Hooks in Clear (from Target)
- 1 – Merry Christmas Ornament Wall Art
I attached everything to the wall using removable 3M Command Wire Hooks. I placed one in the middle, and one on each end. First, I hung the curtain string lights and then placed the garland over the top. To keep the string lights from drooping between the hooks, I used green wire to wrap around the lights and the garland and attach them together.
I had to hide the battery pack belonging to the string lights, but how? It’s huge and kinda heavy. The answer? A bow! And because I can’t make a bow to save my life, I of course had one my mom had made for me last Christmas (Thanks again, Mom!). I wrapped some green wire around the bow and attached the battery pack to the back of the bow. Next, I made a small circle with more green wire to act as a hook and I hung the battery-pack-hiding-bow to the Command Hook on one end of the garland.
And wha-la! You can’t even tell it’s there!
I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. It’s the perfect decorative piece for above my bed for the Holiday Season and I’m all for anything involving Christmas lights this time of year. I love the glow they bring to the room.
Next up, light it up, up, up!
I can officially say that I love how my room is coming along for the holidays! It’s festive, cozy, and I’m ready to binge watch all the Christmas movies I can get my hands on this year all in the wonderful, magical glow known as Christmas Lights.
Let the Holiday Season Begin!
